Self-Awareness
In maintaining self awareness as a professional counselor I have developed a curious lens in approaching challenges and conflicts to explore differences to my own personal values. Having this curious lens has helped me to develop self awareness in circumstances that can feel uncomfortable but ultimately an authentic approach to understanding others without inflicting harm or ruptures in therapeutic and professional relationships. Supervision has also been also a great way for me to process and self reflect on these experiences allowing me to gain additional perspectives and understandings of situations that differ in personal values and beliefs. I plan to continue to explore this in future supervision sessions and continue to learn from a place of acceptance and understanding.
